Jagged Little Pill

Snake around saw

A snake slithered into a carpentry workshop.

As it wound itself towards a corner, it brushed against a saw left on the ground. Luckily the cut was superficial.

However, the snake assumed the saw was attacking. Now angry, with all its might, the snake wrapped its body around the saw to suffocate it.

The angrier it grew, the tighter its grip until the inanimate saw sliced through and killed the snake.

How often do we react rather than respond to those who hurt us- but only end up hurting ourselves?

Sometimes in business and life it pays to ignore people and situations which show teeth but are essentially just pointless obstructions.

By doing so the consequences become lessons in character-building rather than self-destruction caused by bequeathing power to what left alone would have remained impuissant.
